Logic Spectrum LLC is pleased to announce the successfully launch of a new DotNetNuke site into production on July 1st, 2008. The project was targeted to attract and support a community of car enthusiasts, focusing on the German car industry, hence the name German Era.



When we were initially faced with the challenge to deliver a fully functional community website packed with functionality on a two-week firm deadline, the technology choice became obvious. We decided to use the Dot Net Nuke Content Management System with a defined set of pre-built modules.

One of the main requirements was to deliver a unique look and feel to the website with custom graphics and easy-to-navigate user interface. In addition, the website was optimized for the use with Google Adsense or any other advertizing solution of choice. We used a template-based approach to providing consistency and maintainability across the site. A combination of five unique, custom-built skins, provide for a rich user interface experience from the start. In addition, custom graphics, logos, and icons add to the site’s overall complexity and appeal.

The functional requirements were satisfied by implementing custom News Articles and Photo Gallery modules. The site supports defined content approval workflow, site security is guaranteed by an elaborate role-based security framework. A lot of emphasis was put into the flow of the content, so we spend considerable effort on the content flow design and integration between modules.

The end result of a two-week long effort? Well that is up to you to judge, but we would consider it quite excellent.
